स्वर्गलोक में बैठे ईश्वर समय-समय पर धरती पर अवतार लेते आए हैं, लेकिन कई बार साक्षात रूप में नहीं बल्कि, प्रतीकात्मक रूप में ही अपने भक्तों को अपने होने का एहसास करवाते रहे हैं। भारत के उन्हीं चमत्कारी मंदिरों में से एक आंध्र प्रदेश के कनिपकम में स्थित विनायक मंदिर हैं। यह मंदिर भगवान गणेश को समर्पित है, जिसका निर्माण चोल वंश ने 11 शताब्दी में करवाया था इसके बाद विजयनगर के शासकों ने वर्ष 1336 में इसका विस्तार किया।
इतिहास
मंदिर की स्थापना से जुड़ी एक बहुत ही रोचक कथा प्रचलित है जो ईश्वर के होने का एक बड़ा प्रमाण देती है। एक बार एक गांव में तीन विकलांग भाई रहते थे। उनमें से एक बधिर, दूसरा मूक और तीसरा दृष्टिहीन था। उनके पास भूमि का एक बहुत ही छोटा हिस्सा था, वह उस पर खेती कर, अपना गुजारा करते थे। जिस कुएं से पानी निकालकर वे खेती किया करते, एक बार उस कुएं का पानी सूख गया। इसलिए वे खेत में पानी नहीं डाल पा रहे थे। ऐसे हालातों में तीनों में से एक भाई कुएं को और गहरा खोदने के लिए उसमें उतर गया। थोड़ी सी ही खुदाई करने के बाद उसे कुएं के अंदर पत्थर की एक प्रतिमा मिली। जब उसने प्रतिमा पर लोहे की छड़ी से वार किया तो उसमें से रक्त निकलने लगा और देखते ही देखते कुएं का पानी खून की तरह लाल हो गया।
इस अद्भुत दृश्य के साक्षी बने तीनों भाइयों की शारीरिक कमियां दूर हो गई। जब गांव वालों को इस घटना का पता चला तो वे सभी ने कुएं में मौजूद प्रतिमा को बाहर निकालने के लिए कुएं की खुदाई शुरू की लेकिन भगवान विनायक की यह प्रतिमा पानी की लहर में से अपने आप प्रकट हो गई। इस घटना के बाद गांव वालों ने प्रतिमा पर नारियल का प्रसाद चढ़ाकर मंगला आरती कर इस प्रतिमा को स्वयंभू विनायक का नाम दे दिया। आज भी इस स्थान पर यह स्वयंभू प्रतिमा विद्यमान है और इतना ही नहीं उस दिव्य कुएं में भी हर मौसम, हर परिस्थिति में पानी रहता है।
मूर्ति का अाकार लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है
इस प्रतिमा महिमा और इसके चमत्कारिक होने का सिलसिला यहीं समाप्त नहीं होता क्योंकि इससे संबंधित अनेकों चमात्कार और प्रसिद्ध है। यह प्रतिमा तब से लेकर अब तक अपने आकार को भी बढ़ाती जा रही है। पहले यह बिना आकार का कोई पत्थर था लेकिन अब इसी प्रतिमा में आपको पेट और घुटने भी नजर आएगें। एक भक्त ने करीब 50 साल पहले इस मूर्ति के नाप का ब्रेसलेट दान किया था, जो पहले इस प्रतिमा के हाथ में सही आता था। लेकिन अब वह ब्रेसलेट मूर्ति के हाथ में नहीं आता। कनिपकम विनायक की यह प्रतिमा, दो पक्षों के झगड़े भी सुलझाती है। इस प्रतिमा के पास कुएं की ओर मुंह कर विनायक की शपथ लेकर लोग आपसी मसलों को हल करते हैं। स्थानीय लोगों के लिए यहां ली गई शपथ किसी भी कानून या न्याय से बहुत बड़ी है ।
यहां हल होते है बड़े बड़े मसले
कहा जाता है कई बार बड़े से बड़ा अपराधी भी यहां स्नान कर अपने गुनाह कबूल कर लेता है यही वजह है कि कनिपकम सिद्धविनायक मंदिर की लोकप्रियता दूरदराज तक फैल चूकी है स्थानीय न्यायालययों में भी प्रतिमा की शपथ दिलाकर गवाही देने का प्रावधान है

In such circumstances, one of the three brothers got down into the well to dig deeper. After a little digging, he found a stone statue inside the well. When he hit the statue with an iron rod, blood started coming out of it and the water of the well turned red like blood.
The physical shortcomings of the three brothers who witnessed this amazing scene were overcome. When the villagers came to know about this incident, they all started digging the well to take out the idol present in the well, but this statue of Lord Vinayak was automatically revealed from the wave of water. After this incident, the villagers offered coconut on the statue and performed Mangala Aarti and named this statue as Swayambhu Vinayak. Even today, this self-contained statue is present at this place and not only that, the divine well also has water in every season, under all circumstances.
The size of the statue continues to grow
The process of glorifying this statue and its miracle does not end here, because it is so famous and famous. This statue has been increasing its size since then. Earlier it was a stone without any shape, but now in this statue you will also see stomach and knees. About 50 years ago a devotee donated the bracelet of the size of this idol, which used to come right in the hands of this statue earlier. But now the bracelet is no longer in the hands of the idol. This statue of Kanipakam Vinayak also resolves the quarrels of the two parties. People take the oath of Vinayak to face the well near this statue and people solve mutual issues. For local people, the oath taken here is much larger than any law or justice.

It is said that many times even the biggest criminal takes bath here and confesses his crime, that is why the popularity of Kanipakam Siddhivinayak temple has spread far and wide, even in local courts, there is a provision to witness the oath of statue.
