जानिए चंडीमंदिर से चंडीगढ़ शहर बनने का इतिहास
माता चंडी का यह मंदिर 5000 साल से भी पुराना मंदिर है! यहाँ माता चंडी जी महिषासुर का संहार कर के उनके ऊपर खड़ी है ! कहा जाता है की एक साधु जंगल में तपस्या करा करते थे! यहाँ भगवती का प्रगट स्थान देखकर माता की सेवा में लग गए ! तपस्या और पूजा करने लग गए ! और घास, मिट्टी, पत्थर से माता का छोटा मंदिर बना दिया. तभी से यहाँ लोग माथा टेकने लगे और उनकी मनोकामना पूरी होने लगी ! समय बीतने पर 12 साल के बनवास के समय पांडवो ने घूमते हुए देखा यहाँ चंडी माता का प्रगटवास है ! तो अर्जुन ने यहाँ माता की तपस्या की ओर माता ने उसको खुश होकर तलवार व जीत का वरदान दिया ओर यही से वे कुरुक्षेत्र गए और उनकी जीत हुई! समय बीतने पर ये जगह मनीमाजरा की रिहासत में आ गयी ! समय बीतने पर भारत के पहले राष्ट्पति डॉ. राजेन्द्र प्रसाद और श्रीमान करडू और सी पी एन सिंह जी बिहार के राजा और पंजाब के गवर्नर थे! ओर वे 1953 में यहाँ आये ओर उन्होंने मंदिर का इतिहास जाना ओर पंडित जी बोला की हम चण्डीमाता के नाम पर एक गाँव बसाना चाहते है. तभी माता के नाम पर चंडीगढ़ गाँव बना. इस तरह काली माता के नाम पर कालका, पांच पांडवो के नाम पंचपुरी से पंचपुरा जो की अब पिंजौर के नाम से जाना जाता है !

Chandigarh village was formed only in the name of mother. In this way, Kalka in the name of Kali Mata, Panchpura from Panchpuri to the name of five Pandavas, which is now known as Sankataur!
